Immigration Categories

Carmela Valles came to Peterborough from the Philippines as a student in 1990. From 2001-2010 she was the Executive Director of the New Canadians Centre in Peterborough (www.nccpeterborough.ca), a publicly-funded agency that provides new immigrants with a variety of support services. She now works as an immigration consultant.

The PPCII strives to represent a wide cross-section of sectors (e.g., municipal government, settlement services, education, business, community services etc.), geographical communities (Peterborough City and County), and demographic communities (e.g., women, seniors etc.).

As a member, you will be able to participate in council discussions, sit on committees, and receive regular updates about Council activities.
