On January 14, 2012 Peterborough Family Resource Centre and Peterborough Partnership Council on Immigrant Integration co-hosted Family Fun Time at the Peterborough Family Resource Centre. This event provided an opportunity for newcomers to learn about one of the incredible social and cultural amenities available in Peterborough. The afternoon will included a tour of the PFRC facilities and an introduction to the wide range of programs it offers.

Please click here for the coverage of the event on CHEX Television.

The aim of the event was to promote the Peterborough Welcome Pass and the services offered by its newest partner, The Peterborough Family Resource Centre. The Peterborough Welcome Pass is a new program of the Peterborough Partnership Council on Immigrant Integration (PPCII) and the New Canadians Centre (NCC).  It is designed to give newcomers to Peterborough a foothold and introduction to all the different cultural, arts, and recreational spaces in the Peterborough area.

The Peterborough Family Resource Centre (PFRC) joins 21 other organizations such as the Peterborough Canoe Museum, Lang Pioneer Village, ArtSpace and the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame as a committed partner with the Welcome Pass, showcasing the variety of spaces and places holders of the pass will have access to.

Multicultural Organizations
Tuesday, 06 September 2011 10:49

The map and list of all of the multicultural organizations in Peterborough are tools and easy reference materials for newcomers and residents of Peterborough to find the multicultural group that represents them. Also of interest is the Guide in how to form your own multicultural group. If it turns out that your ethnic background is not represented in Peterborough and you want to create one the guide is for you. The guide provides easy steps and contacts for anyone that desires to make their own cultural group. These three resources aim to point out these wonderful groups so that clients of the New Canadians Centre and residents of Peterborough are able to access, create and contact the organization that represents their background.
