Carmela Valles came to Peterborough from the Philippines as a student in 1990. From 2001-2010 she was the Executive Director of the New Canadians Centre in Peterborough (www.nccpeterborough.ca), a publicly-funded agency that provides new immigrants with a variety of support services. She now works as an immigration consultant.

Chanda Kaziya arrived in Peterborough from Zambia in January 2009. He lives with his wife, a graduate student in physics, and their 15-month-old son, who was born in Canada.

Chanda is speaking to members of the Advisory Group of the Peterborough Partnership Council for Immigrant Integration (PPCII) about his motivations for coming to Canada, life back home, and experiences in Peterborough.
