Igor Trotchine's story
Sunday, 13 February 2011 14:07

Igor Trotchine arrived from Moldova, a former republic of the Soviet Union, in Canada in 1993. After spending the first three years in Toronto, he moved with his wife Ina to Peterborough. They have a 14 year-old daughter.

Together they established "A Taste of Russia", a successful local food business selling primarily at the local farmers market. The business has been expanding into neighbouring communities and is the first of its kind in the region.

In this video, Igor talks about the reasons for leaving his native Moldova. Coming from a small country with a multiethnic composition, he believes, has helped him adapt to Canadian culture.
